The pilot ladder broke when the pilot was boarding the general cargo ship CREST CRANE at night on Nov 5 at Keelung Port, Taiwan, to take the ship out.
The pilot fell into the water but luckily, was quickly rescued by a pilot boat and transferred to the hospital, he’s safe.
The ship took full responsibility for the faulty ladder leading to the accident and will cover all the expenses.
CREST CRANE remained in port, she was bound for Kaohsiung.
