Cargo ship DAI CAT 06 on Jan 9 is reported missing in South China sea, no communications during last 10 days. Last AIS position is dated Jan 3, South China sea, 120 nm NE of Singapore. Ship’s Emergency Position Indicator Radio Beacon (EPIRB) was found some 30 nm NW of Pemangkat, Indonesia, Borneo, in the evening Jan 8. The ship with 5 crew and cargo of iron rods was en route from Lumut Malaysia, to Kuching, Borneo, Malaysia. Malaysian authorities search for disappeared ship’s traces, alarming all ships in the area.
