Cargo of coal self-ignited in cargo hold of capsize bulk carrier ALPHA OPTIMISM at around 1130 LT May 2 at Langosteira harbor, La Coruna, Spain. The fire was extinguished by the joint efforts of crew and port firefighters, in about an hour. Fortunately, most part of the coal was already offloaded.
