Barge towed by tug AVADH on Jul 7 broke free and grounded on the beach of southern coast of Mannar island, northwest Sri Lanka, Gulf of Mannar. Barge was to be towed to Tutikorin, India, from Maldives, but judging from track, tug went NUC on Jul 4 or earlier, and drifted with barge to Mannar island. Tug’s AIS is on, understood she’s trying to refloat barge.
