Platform fire, personnel rescued, Bay of Campeche, Mexico UPDATE

UPDATE: Photos and reports of fire were sent from OSV VIGO (IMO 9533646), and posted in social nets. Local media contacted PEMEX, operator of the platform in question, but PEMEX said it doesn’t know of any accident taken place recently on its’ platforms, and that PEMEX will soon issue a bulletin, which will confirm or deny fire report.

Fire erupted on a platform located at Octli Field some 14 nm NE of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, Bay of Campeche, on Feb 11, according to Twitter post and photo. It has become known on Feb 12, thanks to the offshore ship which has been engaged in platform staff rescue. Some 15 staff went into lifeboats and were later rescued, no casualties reported. Fire is said to be under control or extinguished, by Feb 12. no other details available at the moment.
